P C Ramachandran, a 65-year-old Indian based in Dubai city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has collected postage stamps worth $ 27,225 (about Rs 19 lakh). Apart from postage stamps, Ramachandran, who is fond of collecting currencies and other vintage items from many countries, is also known as the preferred collector of the Emirates Philatelic Association.
Raised in India, Ramachandran was fond of collecting colorful postage stamps right from his school days. As a child, he began to collect postage stamps from the accounts of relatives living abroad and collect them. He has almost all types of postage stamps deposited in India since 1947.
Even after moving to Dubai in 1973, he maintained his hobby. Ramachandran has a large collection of stamps in circulation since the inception of the UAE.
