50th Anniversary of GenSan
The stamps featuring the City Government of General Santos to commemorate its 50th Cityhood Anniversary. General Santos City is a First class highly urbanized city in Mindanao. Formerly known as Dadiangas, the city is named after General Paulino Santos, a former Commanding General of the Philippine Army.
Postmaster General Joel Otarra said that aside from being the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos City has a great variety of unique travel destinations with countless beautiful places, and more importantly, a sense of history and a dynamic, cultural diversity. PHLPost has printed 60,000 copies of the four (4) colorful designed stamps by PHLPost in-house graphic designer Victorino Z. Serevo which is being sold at P12.00 each.
