||In 1995 he established Devalri and Associates Pty Ltd which provides Management and Business Management Consulting Services.
In 1996, as an offshoot of Devalri and Associates established Devalri Stamps. Today it is known as Devs Stamps.
In 2000 he joined a group of 8 dealers who founded the IPDA in 2002. Between 2002 and 2010 he acted as Secretary, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor at different times until finally was appointed Chairman in 2007.
On the 16th July 2012 at the AGM and after 10 years dedication and tireless service to the IPDA, Alan, by a unanimous vote was awarded life honorary membership of the IPDA.
In 2009 he changed from being a full-time stamp dealer to part-time semi retired dealer which allowed him to devote more time to carrying out his Association duties. He still actively buys and sells stamps and welcomes inquiries from collectors and dealers.
Alan began collecting postage stamps when he was nine years old, after his Father gave me his collection. He thought this was great and the thrill of searching for and collecting stamps has never declined.
By 1985 he was a part time dealer. He sold mostly at stamp shows and fairs and at club meetings. In 1998, after retiring from a career as a management consultant and becoming a full-time stamp dealer, Devalri Stamps was born as an offshoot of the family company of Devalri and Associates Pty Ltd, Management and Business Consultants, Australia.
In 2000 he joined a group of stamp dealers and helped establish the Internet Philatelic Dealers Association in 2002.
He formed Devalri Stamps in 1995 and provided range of buying and selling services covering the British Commonwealth Stamps pre-1952: World wide stamps; British Postal History and First Day Covers: a consulting service for for dealers and collectors covering identification, specification, valuation and selling of philatelic material plus an Advisory Service for stamp clubs in NSW, Australia and stamp dealers on administration, registration and marketing functions.
He buys and sells philatelic material through e-auction companies and at stamp clubs/associations Expos/Fairs.
