India Post has released a commemorative postage stamp on Ram Chand Paul on 6th March 2019 at Chandigarh . The commencement of centenary year celebration of Professor Ram Chand Paul (1919-2002) will be organised by the Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh in the loving memory of Prof. Ram Chand Paul, a distinguished scientist, an eminent educationist and an able administrator. Due to his dynamic leadership and vision, the Department of Chemistry grew by leaps and bounds so much so that it was recognized by University Grants Commission as a Centre for Advanced Studies in Chemistry and has acquired international stature and signed several collaborative programmes with academic institutions in UK, USSR, Hungary and USA. His untiring efforts led to the establishment of the Regional Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre (RSIC) and Central Instrumentation Laboratory (UGC) on the University campus. One of the important buildings on the Campus has been named after his name together with a garden in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office named as “Ram Chand Paul Rose Garden” in his memory. The Department of Chemistry organizes every year an annual symposium since 2002.He was the longest serving Vice Chancellor of Panjab University Chandigarh from 1974-1984.
