2019 is the 20th anniversary of The Gruffalo, a 1999 children’s picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. It has become an international hit selling around thirteen million copies worldwide, been translated into 81 languages, turned into a short film and voted as the UK’s favourite bedtime story. There are two strips of three stamps. This strip shows the £1.60 value (representing the mail charge for a letter over 20 grams and under 100grams from the UK to Europe) The three stamps feature “ A mouse took a stroll”, the “Roasted Fox” and “Owl ice cream”.
Apparently selling very well with children and grandparents buying for their grandchildren. Perhaps good to encourage children into the hobby?
