It is Christmas eve and here in the Philippines we are preparing food. Yes I know that is a common activity here but today is special as it is another feast, so to speak.   And to celebrate it philatelically,  Philippine Post issued some stamps. I thought you might enjoy seeing them. I know you would enjoy the food. It really is all rather delicious.   These stamps are called the  “Noche Buena” stamps  and feature the traditional Filipino feast.  A se-tenant strip of four stamps features “Noche Buena” which is a traditional dinner of Filipinos during Christmas Eve, commonly with lechon (roasted suckling pig) at the center of the dining table.

Traditionally, a variety of sumptuous dishes are served during this famous Filipino Christmas dinner like pancit, hamon, queso de bola, puto bumbong, bibingka, fruit salad, suman, and many more.  The pork is just awesome I have to tell you and no we do not include the head at our table.  🙂

And yes it does mean my diet will start in the new year.   Have a wonderful Christmas everyone and I hope 2019 will be a happy, healthy and successful year for you.    Michael  IPDA General Secretary
