Austria has issued a stamp on departure of United Kingdom from European Union. The stamp was sheduled to release last year on 29th March, the previous date of departure of Britain from EU.Due to delay in this process now Austria overprinted the stamp with new date of Brexit 31st January 2020 and released the stamp on this date. The 140,000 Brexit stamps that were printed have a denomination of 1.80 euros (1.98 dollars), enough to send a standard letter from Austria to destinations outside of Europe. Austrian Post spokesman Michael Homola said” Instead of redesigning and printing new ones, the dates were crossed out on the existing stamps with a simple line, and the final Brexit date was printed beneath it. “It would have been a waste to throw them away.”
