Jersey:The Great War

The final issue in this series looking back at the harsh years of the Great War, remembers a few of Jersey’s men and women who became embroiled in the devastating conflict of 1914-1918. As with those from other parts of the British Isles they were representative of a remarkable generation. Drawn from a variety of backgrounds, some were awarded for extreme gallantry, some perished in the conflict. Others survived with tales to tell, or kept their experiences to themselves, such was the emotional trauma of war and their memories of friends lost.
