Malaysia has issued a new stamp series featuring bees to instil public awareness on the importance of proper honey harvesting and conservation to ensure bees don’t become extinct. The issue was released on 9th April 2019. The honey bee species highlighted for this stamp series are the Apis Dorsata (Lebah Tualang), Apis Cerana (Lebah Kampung) and Apis Andreniformis (Lebah Kerdil Hitam). There will be a total of 600,000 pieces (200,000 per design) produced for this series. Each stamp sheet is worth RM12 and contains 20 pieces of stamps.In addition, Pos Malaysia will be issuing 22,000 Miniature Sheet (MS) featuring the Kelulut queen bee, male bee as well as the worker bee (Heterotrigona Itama).
